ERC-1155 Tokens: Unified display under a common collection name

Hello,

I noticed the following behavior when working with your platform:

  1. ERC-721:

    • When creating a collection of ERC-721 tokens, it is possible to group all tokens under a common collection name and display them on a single page.
  2. ERC-1155:

    • For ERC-1155 tokens, each token is treated as a separate collection, which prevents them from being grouped under a unified collection name or displayed on a single page, as is possible with ERC-721.

I have a few questions regarding this:

  • Is there currently a way to configure the display of ERC-1155 tokens so they can be grouped under a common collection name and shown on one page?
  • If this functionality is not available at the moment, are there plans to implement it in the future?

I would greatly appreciate your response and clarification!

Hey there! So the tokens from an ERC721 are all displayed on the same page if it’s under the same contract.

We don’t have a unified mint page currently for ERC1155 tokens on the same contract but it’s coming up on the roadmap!

Thank you for your quick response and for sharing the exciting news that a unified mint page for ERC-1155 tokens is on your roadmap!

I’d like to clarify a couple of points:

  1. How high is this feature on your priority list, and how soon can we expect its implementation?
  2. Once this update is live, will it support displaying ERC-1155 tokens that have already been minted under the same contract on a single page, or will this functionality apply only to newly created collections?

Unfortunately we don’t have a time estimate for this feature yet—we’ll keep you posted on when we have this feature live.

When the feature is live, it’ll apply to all collections (not just newly created collections).

Thanks for your reply! Really looking forward to this feature.

By the way, are there any plans to add functionality for handling airdrops in the future?

Yes! Also on the roadmap and coming soon

Great news! Can’t wait for the updates.

Hi! Quick update here—so the unified mint pages will actually only be for 1155s that are indexed from external sites. ERC1155s on Highlight will be on separate mint pages but you’ll still be able to view related tokens via the “Related projects” section.

Hi!

Thanks for the update. Honestly, this is a bit of disappointing news for me. I’m not entirely sure how this will be more convenient for users. Perhaps I’m looking at it too narrowly, and I’d appreciate some clarification. Could you share how you see this solution and why it seems optimal to you? Is there any feedback from the community or creators that could explain this approach to displaying ERC-1155 tokens? I’d be interested to understand the reasoning behind this decision.

Thanks in advance for the clarification!

Hi Fakee —all your projects should appear clearly on each 1155 token page under “Related projects” and your profile.

The reason we haven’t prioritized coalescing them together is mostly a technical thing; it would require a reengineering project. Given we show everything together in the UI, we’re focused on other priorities.

We’d love to hear your feedback on why this is important to help us consider as we prioritize our upcoming projects.

Cheers,
Nat

Hi.

Thank you for your response and the clarification.

I understand the technical challenges involved in implementing such a feature, but I wanted to highlight why it’s important not only for our project but for the broader NFT community. Many successful collections, such as The Memes 6529, Notable Pepes, and ClickCreate, have gained recognition by presenting their tokens as part of a cohesive theme or narrative. This approach has allowed them to engage their communities and develop a stronger cultural impact within the NFT space.

Being able to showcase all tokens within a single contract as part of a unified collection would significantly enhance the experience for both creators and collectors. It would allow for a more streamlined and cohesive presentation of collections that are built around a singular idea, helping to tell a more compelling story and attract wider attention.

While Highlight offers several great features, such as support for the Shape blockchain and a user-friendly interface, the lack of this specific functionality for ERC-1155 collections limits the ability to fully express the vision. As a result, creators, including ourselves, may need to explore alternative platforms that better support this feature.

Thanks so much for the detailed comments on this, Fakee. Would you say showcasing all related artwork under the “Related projects” carousel is helpful, or not enough?

To be clear, we hope to work on this soon, pending other projects.
